Kaleidoscope KONARAK

The Sun Temple at Konarak, even in the ruined state presents a majestic appearance. It is the excellent example of Kalinga architecture. Built about 700 years ago the temple has symbolic 24 carved wheels drawn by seven horses. After sunset the light and sound show brings up a fabulous history of the structure. The great poet Rabindranath Tagore says”Here, the language of stone surpasses the language of man". The temple has more erotic sculptures then even the Khajuraho temples. Today it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
