Meghalaya - Living in the clouds

Shillong is a hill station in northeast India and capital of the state of Meghalaya. The name Meghalaya means "the abode of clouds" in Sanskrit. One of the rainiest places on earth – Cherrapunjee is a land of breath taking beauty if you love the reeling rains. Locally it is known as SOHRA and later corrupted to Cherrapunjee during the British rule. Living Root Bridges, extensive cave system, lush jungles and numerous waterfalls makes the location enchanting.
