Nalsarovar Bird Sanctuary

Nalsarovar Bird Sanctuary Spread over 120 sq.kms, Nal Sarovar lake in Gujarat, has extensive reed beds and marshes that are an ideal habitat for aquatic plants and animals. Over 200 species of migratory birds visit this vast shallow lake waters every year from November to February as these four months, water is plentiful and so is fish, insects and plankton abound in the lake - an ideal environment for the birds. Nalsarovar and the surrounding wetlands was declared a bird sanctuary in 1969 and today it is a bird paradise.
